in Medicine (AIM) Workshop 2024


June 17-21 / Yerevan, Armenia

The 2024 AIM workshop will host discussions and presentations on evidence-based medicine, social medicine, health program design, and community medicine, with the goal of educating participants on social, structural, and non-biomedical determinants of health.

The workshop will provide a forum for the development of professional relationships between participants from Armenia and experts from the US and Palestine. Throughout the program, participants and visiting experts will work together to apply themes to local systems.

Schedule of Topics and Events

    Afternoon Workshops

    The goal of the workshops is to provide a smaller forum for discussion centered around the subject covered in the evening lecture the night before.

    Local offices and academic centers will host work such discussion on subjects including:
    o Applied concepts in social medicine
    o Monitoring and evaluation in programs
    o Community health

    o Social medicine and health equity

    Evening Lectures

    Lectures will be on zoom in the evening and available to various academic institutions in the United States including Harvard Medical School, the Boston University School of Medicine, and the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

    Subjects to be covered include:
    o Systemic Problems and Problem Solving
    o The Role of Evidence Based Medicine in Healthcare Systems
    o Harm Reduction in Practice
    o Trends in Social Medicine and Health Equity
    o Applied Social Determinants of Health
    o Monitoring and Evaluation: Pragmatic Application and Use
    o The Role of Mental Health and Trauma Informed Care
